Invitation to the South of the WorldThis artistic series is a sensorial journey to Chiloé, an archipelago in southern Chile where the Pacific Ocean and the Coastal Mountain Range trace a labyrinth of islands inhabited by forests and stories steeped in mystical magic.Chiloé is not only something to behold — it is something to listen to, to walk through, to intuit. Between mist and water, between memory and legend, this territory offers a geography that is also emotion, mystery, and narrative.Through my drawings and paintings, I propose a threshold: a doorway into landscapes that invite one to be enveloped by the slow, profound rhythm of the southern world. May these images awaken the desire to walk in the rain, to get lost in the damp forests, to hear the dense silence of the islands and their inhabitants. The central question of this project is: how does a place become a myth? And how does that myth dwell within us and shape our perception of the land? This body of work arises from a daily and attentive practice in the field — a journey that moves from the tangible — the wooden churches that defy time, the boats that act as extensions of the sea — to the intangible: the moment when fog turns a forest into a stage for legends, or when rain writes its own rhythm on the earth.I am not interested in documentation, but in inquiry. I propose art as a critical translation — a sensitive device that activates connections between Chiloé’s biocultural memory and the subjectivity of the viewer. I invite you to navigate these landscapes as one might interpret a dream, discovering within their folds echoes of other territories, both physical and internal. Read more
